Usernames and Fresh Chat Backgrounds

Better Video Calls, Steadier Groups

Video calls now keep going in Picture in Picture when you leave the call screen, so you can check a message without losing the call. Groups got more dependable too: new members receive the group and its messages right away, even if Morse was closed when they were added.

Edit Your Messages

Sent something with a typo? You can now edit a message after sending it. Reactions are clearer as well: when someone reacts to your message, the notification and your chat list show who reacted and with which emoji.

Forward Photos and Videos

Forwarding now works for photos and videos, not just text. You can also set a default disappearing-message timer for all your chats, or choose one per conversation. Calls are more reliable too.

Morse Is on the App Store

Morse Messenger is out of beta and available on the App Store for iPhone. Create an account without a phone number or email, share your Morse ID, and start talking. Messages, media and calls are end-to-end encrypted.

Voice Calls

You can now make encrypted voice calls in Morse. Tap the phone icon in any conversation to start a call. Just like your messages, call content is end-to-end encrypted between participants.

Disappearing Messages

Want your messages to vanish a set time after they are sent? Now you can. Turn on disappearing messages in any conversation and pick how long they stick around. Once the timer runs out, Morse removes them from your device the next time you open the app, and the other person's Morse does the same on theirs.

Bug Fixes & Stability

Fixed an issue where notifications could arrive slightly delayed on Android. Also resolved a rare crash when opening a group chat with more than 50 members.

Message Reactions

Sometimes a thumbs up says it all. Long-press any message to react with an emoji. You'll see a row of quick picks, or you can browse the full emoji set. Reactions show up right below the message so everyone in the conversation can see them.

Faster & Smoother

The app opens faster, scrolls smoother, and uses less memory, especially in long conversations. If you've been chatting with someone for months, the app should feel just as snappy as day one.

Group Invite Links

Group admins can now create a shareable link that lets anyone join the group instantly. No need to add people one by one. Just send the link and they're in. You can set it to expire or revoke it at any time.

Screenshot Protection

Morse now prevents screenshots and screen recordings inside the app. If someone tries to capture your screen while Morse is open, they'll get a blank image. This is on by default so your conversations stay private even if someone has physical access to the phone.

Android Beta

Morse is now on Android with the same account system, encryption design, and private messaging foundation as iPhone. Contacts on both platforms can communicate securely.

Online Status

You can now see when your contacts are online. A green dot appears next to their name when they're active in the app. This is completely optional. You decide whether to share your own status, and you can appear offline at any time.

Group Messaging

You can now create group conversations with up to 100 people. Groups are encrypted just like private chats, so we can't read any of it. Admins can add and remove members, and when someone leaves, they lose access to all future messages.

Morse is on TestFlight

Morse is now available as a public beta on TestFlight for iPhone and iPad. We're opening it up to early testers to help us find bugs and fine-tune the experience before the full App Store launch. No phone number, no email, no personal information needed.
