Effective March 15, 2026 · Last updated March 15, 2026

Morse is an end-to-end encrypted messenger. Your messages and calls are encrypted so that only you and the people you are talking to can read or hear them. We cannot. This policy explains the little information Morse handles to run the service, and the choices you have.

Information you provide

Your account. Morse does not ask for a phone number, an email address, or a real name. When you set up Morse, your device creates a Morse ID, the identifier you share when you want to start a conversation. You can add an optional profile, such as a display name or picture. That profile is encrypted and shared only with the contacts you approve.

Your messages and calls. Morse cannot read your messages or hear your calls. To deliver a message to a device that is temporarily offline, Morse holds it, still end-to-end encrypted, on its servers only until it is delivered, and then removes it. Your conversation history is kept on your own devices, not on our servers.

Media you send. Photos, videos, voice notes, and files are end-to-end encrypted. While they pass through our servers for delivery they are stored encrypted and removed automatically after a short period.

Information needed to run Morse

To route your messages and set up your calls, Morse stores the minimum technical data required, such as randomly generated keys, authentication tokens, and push notification tokens. We keep this to the minimum needed to operate the service.

No tracking. We do not upload your address book, we have no public directory, and we do not profile your activity or show you ads. Our website does not use tracking cookies or analytics.

Payments and subscriptions. Morse is a paid service. Payments are handled by the app stores (Apple and Google) or, for activation codes bought on our website, by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your full card details. For a purchase on our website we keep a record of the transaction, such as the code issued, the country and amount, and the payment reference, so that we can deliver your codes, meet our tax and accounting obligations, and handle refunds or disputes. An activation code is single-use.

Where your information is processed. Morse is operated from the European Union and our servers are hosted in the EU. Some of the providers we rely on, such as the app stores, our payment processor, and the push notification services, may process limited data outside the EU under their own privacy terms.

Your choices

You are in control of your profile, and you can change or remove it at any time. You can protect Morse with a passcode, and you can erase Morse and everything in it from your device whenever you want, for example if your phone is lost or stolen.

For the limited account and purchase information we hold, and where the GDPR applies, you can ask to access it, correct it, or delete it, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We take the security of your information seriously. Everything you send on Morse is protected by end-to-end encryption, and we use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we do hold against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

No system is ever completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device and your passcode safe. Because your conversation history lives on your own devices and we hold so little, Morse cannot recover a lost account or lost data.

If a personal data breach is likely to create a risk to people's rights and freedoms, we will notify the competent supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, in line with Article 33 of the GDPR. If the breach is likely to create a high risk to the people affected, we will also tell them directly without undue delay, in line with Article 34. Because we hold so little, and because payment details are kept separate from your Morse ID, the scope of any possible breach is by design very limited.

Children

Morse is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will close it and delete any associated data promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child created a Morse account without your consent, please use our contact form so that we can help.

When we may share information

We may share the limited information we hold only where it is necessary to:

  • comply with a valid legal obligation or a lawful request;
  • enforce our Terms, including investigating suspected violations;
  • detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical problems;
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of Morse, our users, or the public, as permitted by law.

Because your messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot produce their content.

How to reach us

Updates

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the Last updated date shown above, and where the changes are significant we will let you know in the app or by other appropriate means. If you keep using Morse after an update, that means you accept the revised policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Services.
